科幻文学是现当代美国文学史的重要组成部分。自20世纪以来,它历经"黄金时代"、"新浪潮"、"赛博朋克"等特色鲜明的不同阶段的发展,已成为当今世界最受欢迎的文类之一。现当代美国科幻文学研究主要侧重于其历史及文学地位、社会研究和文化研究等方面,但未来仍有许多问题亟待探索,尤其是在后现代多元文化视域下考察其与中国文化之关联,以及科幻文学通过影视等途径实现跨界传播的现象等。

Science fiction is one of the important parts in modern and contemporary history of American literature. In the 20th century, American science fiction underwent stages of development with marked characteristics such as ＂Golden Times＂, ＂New Wave＂ period and ＂Cyberpunk＂, keeping its popularity until the present day. Studies on modern and contemporary American science fiction focus on histories, its literary status, social and cultural perspectives and so on. There is still much to be explored, such as its correlation with Chinese culture from the postmodern multicultural perspective and the cross-communication via media such as movies and television programs.
