怒族是世代居住在怒江流域的古老民族,怒族传统饮食是对怒江地区自然生态环境的适应与选择。怒族传统饮食文化具有团结协作、和睦相处的纽带功能,娱悦灵鬼、祈求保佑的宗教功能,尊老爱幼、热情好客的伦理功能,规范行为、化解矛盾的协调功能。怒族传统饮食文化有利于怒族社会的和谐稳定,有利于怒江地区的和谐发展。

The Nu people are an age-old ethnicity living in the watershed of the Nujiang River of Yunnan Province,whose traditional diet is a result of adaptation and choice facing their natural ecological environment. It is argued that their traditional diet culture shows such cohesive,religious,ethical,and coordinating functions as unity,cooperation,harmonious relationship,entertainment,religious worship,prayer for blessings,respect for the old,care for the young,hospitality,behavior regulation,and conflict dissolution. It is favorable for the social harmony and stability of the Nu people and the Nujiang River area.
