＂Philida＂,a new work by André Brink,a famous South Africa writer,vividly presents the social pictures of ethical chaos and moral imbalance in the slavery era of South Africa.Based on literary ethics,this paper analyzes the problems of the female protagonist—Philida in terms of love and marriage,children killing and religious disorder,explores the ethical plight and underlying cultural roots,and delineates the ethical traits in the literary work and Brink＇s concepts of ethics.
