开埠通商、西教传播和新学传入,使得近代温州较早、较快地接触到西方资本主义文化,也使当时国内维新变法思潮在温州得到强烈响应。近代温州维新思想家继承永嘉实学思想,汲取西方工商文明,从实业建设、金融理财、经营管理等方面提出了一系列发展工商经济的思想。近代温州维新变法思潮中的工商经济思想,对改革开放后温州工商经济发展具有一定的影响。

With the opening of ports, transmission of western religion and the introduction of western culture, Wenzhou had earlier and faster access to western capitalist culture, which caused an intense response to the national Reform Movement in Wenzhou. The modern Wenzhou reformists inherited Yongjia practical ideology, drew lessons from the western business culture and put forward a series of thoughts in industrial and economic development from the aspects of industry construction, financing and business management. The industrial and economic thoughts in Reform Movement of modern Wenzhou enlighten the development of Wenzhou industry and economy after its opening up.
