During the May 4th period, Marxism had confrontations with many social thoughts, in which the confrontation with anarchism was long-lasting, intense and had profound influence. Based on The New Youth, this article tries to card the materials about anarchism in The New Youth, elaborate on the core contents and process of the confrontation between Marxism and anarchism, and reveal its impact on the early spread of Marxism.
