Cultural Context and the English Translation of New Chinese Words

由于文化的差异,汉语新词如"中国梦"、"四个全面"、"任性"等的外文翻译常会带来一些混乱,要想翻译好这些新词,我们必须根据当今时代特点,重点考察新词所处的具体语境,还要不断增强译者自身对社会政治、经济和文化等各方面的理解。

Due to cultural differences, the foreign language trans lation of such new Chinese words as ＂China Dream＂, ＂Fourpronged Comprehensive Strategy＂, ＂capricious＂ and so on, often brings some confusion. To appropriately translate those new words, we must consider the characteristics of the present era, fo cus on analyzing specific contexts which they are in, and con stanfly enhance our understanding of social politics, economy, culture and other aspects.
