Doris Lessing, a famous British female writer and Nobel Prize winner, is famous for her novels, but her short stories are also quite unique. A Mild Locust Plague is a representative of her short stories, which seems to be a struggle between man and nature, though there is no conflict in it. The delicate plot and distinctive characters make the whole story connotative, especially the incisive description of the heroine.
