CHAI Ke-qun's Experience in Treatment of Colorectal Cancer in Three Phase

The chief physician CHAI Ke-qun suggests that on the base of deficiency of vital -Qit,he pathogenic exteral evils,dietetic irrationality and injured emotion lead to imbalance of internal organs and disorder of qi -blood and body fluids,resulting in the patho-logical prouducts such as qi stagnation, blood-stasis, phlegm-turbid, heat toxic which accumulate in bowel and induce colorectal cancer.It is a kind of disease that take deficiency of vital-qi as original cause and local evil as the superficial cause.Deficiency of vital qi and understatement of cancer poison are the basic pathogenesis of colorectal cancer,at the same time it is also the root cause of recur-rence and metastasis.He regards the treatment of＆quot;strengthening the body resistance,eliminating pathogenic factor appropriately,regula-ting emotions all the way and treating with syndrome＆quot;as the basic principle.On the base of the relationship between vital qi and patho-genic factor and the character of disease in radical cure stage,follow-up period,palliative care stage,he adjusts the medicine in time. meanwhile he advocates that we should use TCM therapy in the whole process of colorectal cancer treatment and give a comprehensive management in the particular method of treatment.
