名词化在中医翻译中的应用

Application of Nominalization in English Translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine

在中医药国际化进程中,翻译是个十分重要的环节。但是中医翻译的问题也同样不可忽视。为了探究名词化在中医翻译的可行性,寻找恰当的翻译策略,本文通过文献调查法分析了中医翻译之现状,发现中医翻译有待语言和翻译研究者的关注;并通过对国内外有关名词化现象的研究和例示名词化在中医病因病机语言以及中医诊断里的描述语言,来分析名词化在中医翻译中的运用,发现恰当地使用名词化,可以简化句子结构、增强译文信息密度和提高译文正式度。但应防止过度使用名词化。

Translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine （ TCM translation） is of great significance during the internationalization of Tra-ditional Chinese Medicine.Nevertheless, the problems in TCM translation are worthy of attention.In order to explore the feasibility of nominalization in TCM translation and suitable translation strategy, this paper adopts document investigation to analyze the present situ-ation of TCM translation and finds that great attention from the fields of linguistics and translation should be paid to.Furthermore, through the research of nominalization both home and abroad, and with the examples of the application of nominalization in the transla-tion of causes of disease、pathogenesis and diagnostics of TCM, it is found out that suitable application of nominalization could simplify sentence structure、enhance the density of information and improve the degree of formality of translation.However, excessive use of nominalization should be avoided.
