Norms that Urgently Needed to be Standardized:Reflections on“GB/T 7714—2005”English Annotation Norms about Authors,Article Titles and Book Titles

分析了"GB/T 7714—2005"《文后参考文献著录规则》的英文标注规范,认为其有悖于国际通用标准及英语的基本常识,它不但没有规范全国的学术期刊,反而造成了刊物各行其是的混乱局面,给作者、编辑和刊物都造成了困扰。提出权威部门应建立科学、合理,并得到学界公认的规范,以结束目前各方都无所适从的局面。

The norms of English annotation under ＂GB/T 7714--2005＂ Rules for Content, Form and Structure of Bibliographic References are analyzed. Due to its non-compliance with international standards and basic common sense in English, the norms do not standardize domestic academic journals. On the contrary, the norms result in a chaotic situation, in which journals make different choices as they like, causing troubles to authors, editors as well as journals. It proposed that, authorities should establish and popularize scientific, reasonable and universally acknowledged norms in academic circles so as to terminate the awkward situation where all sides are at loose ends currently.
