摘要
本文回顾了外语教学语言观和语言能力观的发展演进历史,梳理了国内外关于外语核心能力的理论内涵、主要构成要素及其内在相互关系,分析指出了我国基础教育阶段外语教学存在的突出问题及其缘由,并尝试就国外外语教育理念以及成功实证研究成果带给我们的有益启示提出几点思考。文章的意义在于帮助外语教师增强对语言本质的认识,领悟外语核心能力的理论精髓,从而进一步明确基础教育阶段外语课程目标和课程设计,理性选择教学内容、教学方法、考核内容及评价方法,更好地承担起课程改革推动者的角色。
This article provides an overview of the theoretical advances and evolution in conceptions of foreign language teaching and language competencies. It initially outlines pertinent theories developed both in China and world that underpin the concept of foreign language core competencies, its components and their interrelationships. Based on analyses, it pinpoints the conspicuous problems that lie in the foreign language teaching of the stage of basic education and analyzes their underlying reasons. Following that, it presents some reflections on how the above-mentioned conceptions of foreign language education and successful empirical research evidence imply for our practices. The significance of the article lies in that it may enhance teachers' understanding of the nature of language and help them gain theoretical insights into the connotations of foreign language competencies. With an upgraded understanding of the curricular obiectives and design of the basic education phase, teachers may be in a better position to fine- tune their teaching content and methods as well as the content of assessment and methods of evaluation, and then perform their facilitative role in the reform.
