明清陕西书院建筑是我国传统书院建筑与陕西地域文化特性相结合的特定产物。这段时期的陕西书院建筑在选址上表现出学无专地,址无定位、因地制宜,少山水园林、坐北朝南,居阳背阴等地域特征。书院的建筑规模普遍偏小;建筑布局偏重轴线、讲究对称严谨;基本建筑为大门、讲堂和内室,建筑在功能的发挥上以实用为主。明清陕西书院建筑总体透显出尚俭实用朴实无华的文化特色。
