中日钓鱼岛争端，源于甲午战争日本“窃岛”，是日本近代军国主义对外扩张导致的直接结果。日本侵占钓鱼岛蓄谋已久，从甲午战前非法的秘密调查，到甲午战时的秘密“窃取”，再到甲午战后的所谓“更名”，其侵略的逻辑是一脉相承的。
