摘要
Regional connectivity is an important component of the recently- unveiled Vision 2025 of the Government of Pakistan. Chinese President Xi Jinping also proposed forging a "China-Pakistan Community of Shared Destiny", and a major milestone for establishing the "China-Pakistan Community of Shared Destiny" was achieved in May 2013 when an agreement was signed to establish the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to connect Pakistan's Gwadar Port with Kashgar in the western part of China close to Pakistan's border. The Economic Corridor has the prospect of transforming not only the economy of Pakistan and China but the economy of the whole of the China-SouthAsia- CentralAsia region as well. This paper will highlight the future scenario for energy transactions for both China and Pakistan and how Gwadar and this economic corridor can perform well in promoting an economic revival for Pakistan. It will also investigate how Gwadar can play a vital role in promoting the CPEC as a means of regional economic integration.
