In Gone with the Wind,Scarlett is a glorious image of feminism. Different from the Madonna＂Ellen and Melanie＂who are created in traditional society where men are pursuing self-interests and demands,Scarlett is a betrayer with feminist consciousness and rebellious spirit. She dared to resist traditional society,broke the prejudice of ＂women inferior to men＂,and strived for economic and personalistic independence. Although she finally became the heathen in the eyes of men and walked into loneliness,her feat would inspire women to unswervingly strive for equality and independence.
