摘要
This thesis mainly discusses Scarlett＇s character. The story Gone with the Wind depicted by Mitchelltook place in 1861 to 1873; the women＇s movement was in prevailing. Scarlett, the heroine of Gone with the Wind,dares to breach the conventions, protects her land-Tara and starts her own business bravely. She showed a new imageof woman to us, her rebellious spirit continuously influence and encourage the women to fight against their rights inthe twentieth century.
