不同水平中国EFL学习者情态动词CAN的使用情况分析——一项基于语料库的研究

摘要 情态动词是英语中一个重要词类,中国EFL学习者使用英语情态动词在某种程度上可以显示其英语水平。本文是一项基于语料库的研究,采用中介语对比研究方法探究中国EFL学习者同英语本族语者以及中国EFL中等水平和高水平学习者在情态动词CAN使用方面的差异。希望以英语作为外语的教学和学习能从本研究的结果中受益。 Modal verbs are a quite important lexical category in English. The use of modal verb CAN, to some extent, reflects how well the Chinese EFL learners learn and master English as a foreign language. This paper is a corpus-based study, which adopts the method of Contrastive Interlanguage Analysis to observe the frequency and the colligation of the modal verb CAN in three corpora, in order to find out the differences between Chinese EFL learners and native speakers on the one hand and the differences between intermediate Chinese EFL learners and advanced learners on the other hand. EFL teaching and learning are expected to benefit by the findings of the present study.
