Heritage value of Ancient Villages along the Daqinghe River:Explore the Ximatou Ancient Village in Wen'an County of Hebei Province

西码头古村落位于河北省文安县大清河畔,村中三氏宗族自明代即居住于此,至今仍保存着较为完整的古村落形态。它是北方河泛区宗族避难聚居古村落的典型代表,其宗祠、民居在古建筑技术和古建筑艺术上都具有宝贵的历史文化价值,值得重点保护和开发。在对其保护和开发上,应注意突出乡土特色,传扬地域文化,以保护为基点,形成区域性开发。

Ximatou is located at the bank of the Daqinghe River in Wen＇an County of Hebei province. In this ancient village, there are three clans living there ever since the Ming Dynasty and still preserves the complete layout. It is a representative of evacuation villages from flood in the North river flooding areas. The temples and residences are of precious historical and cultural values in respect of ancient architectural techniques and art. Protection and development of them should highlight local characteristics, clan culture and protection-oriented regional development.
