印度洋在海上丝路中扮演的角色同中亚之于陆上丝路的角色等量齐观。在连通中国、非洲及欧洲的航线上,除印度南部诸港口之外没有更好的地点可用于经停补给和休憩中转。地处南亚次大陆南端的岛国斯里兰卡以其优越的地理位置成为海上丝路中无可替代的重要站点。无论在古代历史久远的海路商贸往来中还是在今天的建设21世纪海上丝绸之路构想中,斯里兰卡都发挥重要作用。梳理斯里兰卡与海上丝路的历史关联及斯里兰卡对海路外交的历史态度,有助于制定推动斯里兰卡参与海上丝路的文化策略。
The Maritime Silk Road on the Indian Ocean performs a key role for connecting Asia and Afri-ca as well as Europe. Sri Lanka has been an important interchange for the Maritime Silk Road. Weshould discusses the historical development of the role of Sri Lanka on the Silk Road, the interactionand implications of Sri Lanka with foreign powers as well as the current status of the country in the21 st Century Maritime Silk Road.
