摘要
孟子以"心"为"性"之"端","端"在时间维度上为初始,在空间维度上为细微,在自然质性上为稚嫩。"端"的三层意涵,决定了孟子哲学中由"心"向"性"发展的三重逻辑导向。孟子以"端"言"心",不仅在本体论的层面上说明了活泼之本心成就盎然之德性的可能性,同时也在工夫论的层面上说明了将细微、稚嫩之本心发展为显著、成熟之善性的必要性。
In Mencius' opinion,mind is the origin of human nature. As a category,"origin"represents beginning in time,small in space and tender in character. In Mencius' philosophy,it is the three intentions of"origin"that determine the three logic derivations in the development from"mind"to"human nature". Taking"mind"as"origin",Mencius interpreted not only the possibility from lively mind to exuberant virtue in ontology but also the necessity that men develop their tiny and tender minds to obvious and mature nature in cultivation.
