Concept and technical characteristics of sensor were briefly introduced. Demand and application of sensor technology in key link of agricultural production were expounded. At the same time, development trend of sensor technology in agricultural areas was forecasted. MEMS micro sensor, photoelectric sensor, biomimetic sensors, wireless sensor network and emerging new sensor technology would become mainstream development direction of agricultural sensor technology in the future.
