A Discursive and Cognitive Approach to Metaphor Niche in Argumentative Texts

话语隐喻研究的一个新近趋势是将话语与修辞语言的认知层面联系起来,因此,可采用此视角探索论说文本中的隐喻生态位以说明如下问题:隐喻特性如何通过深层概念隐喻和语篇依赖性的映射显现并在话语层面上被探索。此分析法明确强调隐喻的论说作用,从语篇衔接蕴含链来看,隐喻语言在语言、认知和语用方面有助于话语的论说力。

To integrate the discursive and cognitive dimensions of metaphor is one of the recent trends of studies on metaphor in discourse. A discursive and cognitive approach to the metaphor niche in argumentative texts from such a perspective can be adopted to demonstrate how metaphoricity might emerge and be explored discursively, through underlying conceptual metaphors and textually dependent mappings. This analytical approach explicitly stresses the argumentative role of metaphor： metaphorical language contributes linguistically, cognitively and pragmatically to the argumentative power of discourse from a chain of textually cohesive entailments
