摘要 以上海理工大学为例,以ESP理论为依托,对理工科院校开设的旅游英语选修课展开课程定位研究。"类导游"这一新名词是指与导游颇为类似但不尽相同的工作。理工科大学开设的旅游英语选修课有别于传统的旅游英语课程,应以培养"类导游"为目标,课程重点应放在文化导入及应用翻译/口译能力的培养上,搭建起基础英语课程与学生就业需求之间的桥梁。 The Tourism English Course discussed in the paper is different from the conventional one, which aims at training qualified guide interpreters. Therefore, the paper launches a re-orientation research on the course based on ESP theory and the course case of USST. "Quasi guide interpreter" is a new term introduced in the paper, meaning sharing something in common with guide interpreter, yet not exactly the same. To bring up "quasi guide interpreters" , the course highlights cultural knowledge and the development of translation/interpretation ability. The essence of the course, in another word, is to bridge the gap between EGP and the students' needs of professional skills in future career.
