接受美学视角下西方文化悬疑小说汉译研究——以《失落的秘符》汉译本为例

A Study on the E-C Translation of Western Cultural Mystery Novels from the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics—— With the Chinese Version of The Lost Symbols as an Example

接受美学是以读者为中心,强调读者的期待视野的主张,为西方文化悬疑小说的汉译带来了启示。《失落的秘符》汉译本翻译策略的分析揭示,译者在选择翻译策略时需考虑目的语读者的接受水平、审美情趣和习惯性经验,以便最大程度地满足其期待视野。异化与加注并用可满足读者的创新期待,归化策略的运用可满足其定向期待,从而提升译文的可接受性和可读性。

As the essential part of the theory of reception aesthetics, the view of reader--center artd the importance attached to readers＇ expectation horizon gives some enlightenment on the E--C transla- tion of western cultural mystery novels. This article analyses the translation strategies adopted in the Chinese version of The Lost Symbols. Based on the analysis, it is noted that predicting the level of ac- ceptance, aesthetical taste and reading habits of potential readers of target language is crucial for the proper choice of a translation strategy. In addition, it also shows that the adoption of foreignization and domestication helps realize the innovative and directional expectation of potential readers of the Chinese version respectively, thus enhancing the acceptability and readability of the translation.
