The Invisible Man is an ethical story about how human should utilize science through the developing process of Griffin's free will to irrational will, then fighting with Kemp's rational will. Griffin's original will of inventing invisibility is free will, because he wishes to have greatest freedom of will through invisibility. Without rational limitation the free will becomes stronger and stronger, and turns into irrational wills which are from stealing to hurting others, to killing others willingly, and to killing others without restraint. The fighting ends up with the failure of Griffin's irrational will. Griffin's inventing and utilizing invisibility is irrational and against ethic. As a carder of irrational will the invisibility has helped him. Griffin's being killed and Kemp's being saved reflect Wells' ethical expression in the novel about how human should utilize science: human should utilize science ethically and rationally. Everyone who seeks to arrogate ethic with the help of science is doomed to failure. With human beings entering the scientific age, Griffin's selection is enough for us to take warning. Developing and utilizing science ethically is the ultimate salvation for human beings.
