Overview on the Recent Research of Ontology Construction

论述国内外关于本体的概念、分类、描述语言、构建原则、构建工具和构建方法的研究以及本体构建在语义检索、信息系统、知识发现和机器翻译中的应用，指出目前尚没有统一的理论对本体构建方法进行指导，研究方法以算法、建模为主，而且更多地局限于具有数学和计算机技术背景的相关领域。

This paper gives an introduction to the concepts classifications, description languages, principles and methods of ontology constructions, furthermore, summarizes its applications in semantic retrieval, information systems, knowledge discovery and machine translation of ontology. Points out that there is not a unified theory to guide the constructions of ontology, and the main research methods focus on algorithms and modeling, furthermore, more studies limited to mathematical and computer technological background in related fields.
