中国留美大学生学业和文化适应性问题研究--以美国加州太平洋大学为例 被引量:6

摘要 此份中国留学生学业和文化适应性问题研究报告建立在对美国加州太平洋大学29位中国留学生的"焦点小组访谈"基础上。这些学生在留学期间都遇到了学习和生活上的挑战与困难。研究人员将29名参与者分成了5组,采用标准的"焦点小组访谈法"收集一手数据,并在完整转录数据的基础上提取主题、印证主题。研究发现,形成中国留学生学业和文化挑战的四大主要来源是:学习方法的差异性;文化及社会的适应;自我管理与发展的挑战;沟通技巧的缺乏。研究结果也为提出中国留学生克服在美学习和文化困难的建议提供了依据。 Based on a study of five focus groups with 29 Chinese students who experienced some significant academic and cultural challenges during their study at University of the Pacific, the study generated four major sources of academic and cultural challenges which are learning method transformation, cultural and social adaptation challenges, self-development issues and communication skills associated with the language barrier. The data analysis was based on theme extraction with a focus on both direct and indirect quotes to use to elaborate and support these themes.
