摘要
美国人如何看待中国教育是一个研究较少的课题。基于对美国40名在校大学生的实证研究,发现美国学生一方面对中国教育的某些特点,诸如对教育的重视程度、对学前教育的强调、对教师的尊重等方面倍加赞赏;另一方面却对中国教育的不平等现象、严格的选拔制度、教学过程中对纪律的强调等方面提出异议。因而,我们对中国的教育既不要妄自菲薄,也不能固步自封。要有针对性地批判和吸收美国的教育经验,才能探索出一条适合中国国情的教育之路。
American attitude toward Chinese education has not been studied adequately. Based upon the investigations of 40 American students from Illinois State University, we found that some people hold the view that China's education outperforming many more advanced characteristics in certain ways, such as value education, stress pre-school, respect teachers. While others suggest that a number of critical issues still need to be solved, for example, inequality in education, examination system, overemphasis on discipline in teaching. Hence, when it comes to education, we should not neglect the accumulated accomplishments in China, nor should we stand still. To develope Chinese education, we should learn from American exprience, and absorb what is best in it.
