摘要
1958年,英国著名剧评家肯尼斯-泰南与罗马尼亚裔法国剧作家欧仁·尤奈斯库就艺术观念、艺术与政治之间关系等问题进行了热烈的辩论,史称"伦敦剧辩"。在某种程度上看,这场辩论的实质是进入20世纪以来,西方戏剧的两股思潮在欧洲剧坛的反映,艺术的超越性与其社会功用孰先孰后?这一直是理论界的重大课题,也是伦敦剧辩的主题。
In 1958, British well-known theater critic Kenneth Tynan launched a hot debate on the issues such as artistic concepts, the relationship between art and politics, which is called "A Debate on Concepts of Theater in London", with Romania born French playwright Eugbne Ionesco. To a certain extent, this debate reflected two different point of views on theater in Europe, namely, which one will take the priority, the transcendence of art or the social function of art? Actually, this is both a major issue in theatrical theories and the major topic of the debate in London.
