辛·拉贾拉南的《虎》讲述了一个引发读者的怜悯、忧虑、失落,情感的悲剧故事,其悲剧色彩的形成与人物间的关系密切相关。首先,法迪玛与虎构成具有隐喻功能的两个意象,虎的死亡暗示了法迪玛最终的命运。其次,在村庄这个封闭落后的系统中,"猎虎——反猎虎"的问题构成剧烈对抗的双方;猎虎行动的出发点是保护法迪玛在内的村人,其结局却对法迪玛造成不可弥补的伤害。正是人物间关系的这种复杂性及其带来的伤害与死亡,形成《虎》的悲剧色彩。

Tiger, written by Sim Raiaratnam, tells his readers a tragic story, triggering their emotion of pity, anxiety and loss. Its tragedy is closely related to the relations among its characters. Firstly, Fadima and tiger constitute two images with metaphor functions, and the death of tiger suggests Fadima＇s ultimate fate. Secondly, in the village, a backward and closed system, the controversy of ＂hunting tiger or antihunting tiger＂ forms a violent confrontation; the aim of tiger-hunting-action is to protect the villagers including Fadima, but it finally brings the irreparable harm to Fadima. It is the complexity between the characters＇ relations and the injury and death it caused that form the tragedy of tiger.
