美国红学史的学术史反思

Academic Reflection on American History of Study of " A Dream of Red Mansions"

在近年来的海外红学中,美国红学的成就是独树一帜、成果斐然的。自19世纪起,美国的汉学家就已经注意到了以《红楼梦》为代表的中国古典小说的影响,并开始通过译介向西方介绍这部小说。自20世纪50年代"海外红学"的构想被提出后,美国红学逐渐呈现出多元化的特色:红学研究不仅可以与西方文论相结合,亦可以开拓出跨学科、跨专业的研究方式。这展现出与中国传统红学研究风格迥异的一面。同中有异是美国红学的特点,美国红学构成了汉学的一部分,不再是单纯的中国古典文学研究。美国红学的研究成果为今后红学的发展有力地拓展了空间,其研究经验也十分值得我们反思和借鉴。

In recent overseas study of ＂ A Dream of Red Mansions＂,American study in this field enjoys a unique and abundant achievements.From the 19 th century,American sinologists have noticed the influence of classical Chinese novels represented by ＂ A Dream of Red Mansions＂ and began to introduce the novel to the west by translation.Since the concept of overseas study of ＂ A Dream of Red Mansions＂ was raised in 1950 s,American study of this novel is diversified.The study of ＂ A Dream of Red Mansions＂ not only can be combined with the western literary theories,but can develop an interdisciplinary research methodology,which is quite different from the Chinese traditional study of ＂ A Dream of Red Mansions＂.American study in this aspect,not a pure study of classical Chinese novels any more,has been a part of sinology.Their achievements open up a field for the future study and their research experiences are worthy of reflection and learning.
