Chinese-English translation of public signs has become a hot issue,which symbolizes a communityˊs civilization. But many mistakes can be found in its translation. Based on the perspective of Skopostheorie put forward by Reiss,this paper analyzes several major mistakes in the English translation of public signs and offers their corresponding solutions.
