二十世纪二三十年代,中国出现了严重的乡村危机,各地为应对危机而产生了乡村建设运动。面对危机,美国洛克菲勒基金会也改变了单纯支持中国医学事业发展,而转向资助由促进中国乡村发展的"中国项目"。在1935至1944这十年不断的资助下,中国乡村建设运动有了新的发展,该项目在民国乡建运动史上有着特别的意义。

Rural crisis happened in the 1920s and 1930s. There are many rural reconstruction movements at many areas. Facing the criis, The Rockefeller Foundation changed to patronize China Program instead of medical project. With the help of ten years＇ fund, China＇ rural reconstruction had new development and it played special significance during the history of rural reconstruction.
