Lin Yunming's Adherent Complex and His Creation of Chu Ci Deng

林云铭有浓重的遗民情结。作为明代遗民,其思想经历了两次大的转折:明亡后向往用世,用世后愤世嫉俗;黜落后厌世愤世,继而产生了浓重的怀旧情绪。这一发展轨迹,正是始而跃跃欲试,继而屈臣下僚,终而无路可走而复归反叛或怀旧的一类遗民的成长轨迹,这也是林云铭热爱楚辞、创作《楚辞灯》的主要原因。

Lin Yunming has strong adherent complex. As an adherent of the Ming Dynasty, he experienced two big turning points in his thoughts. One was his desire to become an official to serve the contemporary society after the perishment of the Ming Dynasty, but then became extremely cynical; the other was his world-weariness after his dismiss, even feeling heavily nostalgic. From the track of his career, we can see that, at the beginning he was eager to try, and then became a petty official with chagrin, but finally rebelled helplessly. The track also shows us the main reason for his strong love for The Songs of the South and his creation of Chu Ci Deng.
