Cultural Interpretation on the Plays of the Dreams from Gods

古典戏曲中有大量关于神灵托梦的描写,这些梦创建了一个特殊的灵境空间。在这个空间里,富有智慧的神灵以种种或隐或现的梦象指点梦者并藉此关怀世俗人生,包括人的出生、成才、成名、姻缘、死亡,乃至关怀社会伦理的公平公正等等。这些托梦故事,运用神话的叙事模式,表达了人们深沉的集体渴望:在想象的慈母与严父身上寄托俗世人生的情感依靠与秩序需求。

In classical Chinese drama abound dreams from gods which create a special supernatural space. In this space, the wise gods care about people＇s life, and help dreamers to know about the birth, growth, marriage, death and justice in the society. These texts of occult dreams are used to express people＇s deep collective desire by the pattern of mythological narration. It is the emotional dependence on the amiable mother image and the desire for peace to the impartial father image.
