THE STRATEGIC CHOICE OF DEVELOPMENT FOR LOCAL UNIVERSITIES IN HENAN PROVINCE UNDER THE VISION OF “GIANT PROVINCE OF EDUCATION

从世界范围来看,高等教育区域化已经演变成高等教育发展的一种趋势。作为"教育大省",河南地方高校发展迅猛,但同时也面临诸多问题和挑战。在大众化背景下,河南地方高校要顺应从"教育大省"到"教育强省"的呼唤,实现长远健康发展,必须准确定位,发挥优势,实施特色发展战略;狠抓内涵,提高质量,实施内涵发展战略;根植区域,立足行业,实施协同发展战略;建立现代大学制度,增强自主创新能力,实施创新发展战略;加强合作交流,做到强强联合,实施抱团发展战略。

Worldwide,regionalization of higher education has evolved into a development trend for higher edu-cation.As a “giant province of education”,local colleges and universities have been developing rapidly in Henan Province but they are also faced with many problems and challenges.Under the background of educa-tional popularization,local colleges and universities there should comply with the call for the shift from “giant province of education”to “big province with strong education”,and achieve long-term healthy development;their positioning must be accurate;they must give play to their strengths and implement the development strat-egy with their own characteristics;they should pay close attention to connotation,improve the quality and im-plement the strategy of connotation development;they should be rooted in the region,find a foothold in their industries and implement the strategy of joint development;they should establish a modern university system, enhance independent innovation capability and implement innovative development strategies;they should strengthen cooperation and exchanges,implement mega-merger combination among the giants.
