外语科研写作中混合方法的推论质量研究 被引量:3

A Study on Inference Quality of Mixed Methods Research in Foreign language Education Research

摘要 在学界,采用混合方法的外语教学实证类论文日益增多,但对这些论文的推论质量尚无深入的研究。本文以2008-2014年发表在国内10种外语类CSSCI期刊中使用混合方法研究的外语教学类文章为对象,通过语步和文本分析等途径,以研究的设计充分性、设计一致性和数据的结合效度三个维度为切入点来分析所选论文的推论质量。研究结果表明,相关研究的推论质量存在以下几个主要问题:1研究方法部分的设计充分性不够;2研究设计前后一致性偏弱;3质化、量化数据的结合效度较低。本文的研究结果有助于外语教育科研人员在采用混合方法时关注研究设计的充分性与前后一致性,重视研究结论要建立在质化与量化数据结合的基础之上,从根源上提高论文的推论质量。 Mixed methods research is widely used in empirical researches in foreign language education, but the inference quality of these researches has been explored neither comprehensively nor thoroughly. Using genre analysis and text analysis methods, this paper attempts to investigate the inference quality of empirical researches from these three aspects: design adequacy, design consistency and integrative efficacy, which based on the research articles published in ten CSSCI journals in foreign languages in China. The results indicate that some problems still exist in these empirical studies which apply mixed methods research, such as design inadequacy of method sections, design inconsistency and low integrative efficacy of qualitative and quantitative data. This research aims to help Chinese foreign language researchers to focus on design adequacy and consistency while employing mixed methods research, and also attach much more importance to drawing inferences from both qualitative and quantitative data as so to enhance inference quality fundamentally.
