采用100%桉木浆生产卫生纸，埃及AL-Sindia纸厂新建这样一个新项目的想法久已有之。〈br〉 采用100%桉木浆生产卫生纸是有可行性的，但在纸张质量和性能方面面临挑战，如柔软度、匀度和强度。

A1 Sindian succeeded to have an alternative of softwood pulp by producing sellable facial and toilet tissues from 100% eucalyptus fibers. The improvement in tissue softness and the reduction in dust level were the most tangible results. All other specifications remained within the standard requirements. The success in the project was achieved by reducing pulp cost and reducing energy consumption by using 100 % eucalyptus in furnish without affecting negatively on the sheet specifications.
