从汉代到现代,甘草在剂型、炮制、用量、配伍和病证等方面的应用受到多种因素的影响。剂型方面,主要受到不同剂型的适应病证与生产力的发展水平的影响。炮制方面,主要与炮制理论的发展和历代主治病证有关。用量方面,主要涉及各个时期医家的用药思想与甘草在不同时期的功效发挥两方面。配伍方面,主要是与白芍、人参、茯苓、桂枝、麻黄配伍时有着各自独特的功效发挥以及作用取向。病证方面,甘草归经多样,有"通行十二经络"之说,可用于治疗多个不同病位的病证。

From the Han dynasty to the modern, the preparation, processing, dosage, synergy and syndrome of diseases of liquorice root are affected by different factors. The preparation is influenced by the different adaption to the disease and the development of productivity. The drug processing is affected by the development of processing theory and the attending disease in the past dynasties. The dosage is influenced by the prescription strategy thoughts of doctors in each period and the efficacy exertion of liquorice root in different periods. The synergy is based on the orientation effects when liquorice root combined used with debark peony root, ginseng, indian bread, cassia twig and ephedra. On the aspect of the disease, licorice has different channel tropisms, which can go through twelve meridians and treat with many different diseases.
