The Excavation of Wei Xie's Tomb of the Sui Dynasty

2010年11月,西安市文物保护考古研究院为配合西京学院新校区的建设,在新校区的西南方向发掘了一座隋代墓葬,形制保存基本完整,天井及墓室中残存有壁画,出土墓志一方,有明确纪年。为研究隋代关中地区墓葬形制提供了资料,也为完善京兆韦氏的谱系提供了佐证,填补了逍遥公房这一支的人物序列。

In November 2010, Xi＇an Municipal Institute of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Archaeology excavated a tomb of the Sui Dynasty in the southwest of the new campus of the Xijing College. This tomb was well preserved, from which an epitaph bearing exact date was unearthed. The excavation of this tomb provided new materials for the research on the structures of the burials of the Sui Dynasty in Guanzhong area, and also provided references for completing the genealogy of the Wei Family in Jingzhao （capital vicinity） area and iflled the gap in the sequence of the“Duke Xiaoyao （the descendants of Wei Qiong of the Northern Zhou Dynasty）”branch of the Wei Family.
