冯玉祥烟台之行

Yuxiang Feng's Yantai Visit

20世纪30年代,著名爱国人士冯玉祥将军曾到过烟台,他虽然只住了4天,但他的高尚人格和爱国精神,却永远留在烟台人民心中。冯玉祥（1882—1948）,安徽巢县人,字焕章,曾先后任北洋陆军旅长、师长、督军及陆军检阅史等职。1924年发动＂北京政变＂,把＂赌选总统＂曹锟赶下台,改所部为国民军。1926年9月,国民革命军攻抵武汉时,他宣布集体加入国民党。1928年,他举旗反蒋,1930年爆发蒋冯大战。

In the 1930s General Yuxiang Feng, a famous patriot, visited Yantai. He just lived for four days, but his .noble character and patriotic spirit left a lasting impression on the hearts of the Yantai people. In the early May of 1934, he set off from Tai＇an and embarked on his trip to promote anti-Japanese fights. He went by Jinan, Qingzhou, Weixian, Huangxian, Penglai and so on and arrived at Yantai, where he was warmly received by the Yantai people. With the company of Kuiwen Zhang, the commissioner, Yuxiang Feng boarded the American war ship which was perching in the Yantai Port for a visit. Afterwards he came out with a poem titled ＂American Warship＂ with worry and indignation：＂The unfair world, and the unjust land and heaven. How can our warship go to America for a short stay？＂
