Discussion on the Public Library's Intrinsic Due Value and Extrinsic Performance Value

公共图书馆的价值是学界与业界共同关心的问题,属于公共图书馆学的重大根本性问题,对此问题的澄清有利于其他所有与价值相关问题的解决。从人文社科学科的特点与公共图书馆业态现状出发,提出了公共图书馆的内在应有价值与外在表现价值的概念,以期为解决现实困惑提供一些思路。

The public library’s value is the common concern of academia and industry, which is a great fundamental problem belonging to the public library science. Clarification concerning this issue helps with solving all other problems related to values. Starting from the characteristics of the humanities and social science disciplines and public library’s operating mode status, this paper puts forward the concepts of public library’s intrinsic due value and extrinsic performance value in order to offer some ideas to solve real confusions.
