Among German writers, there is no one like Gunter Grass who has focused on German people's lives before and after the Second World War in Germany, and stubbornly and continuously reflected on the curse-worthy war and its impact on Germany. What he wants is to ask, to examine, to analyze and to strongly keep alert, and to place those that have been ignored, hiden, avoided, humiliated and keeping silent under a microscope to amplify them in artistic ways so that they must be faced and answered. In his writing, Gunter Grass acts as human nerve endings by focusing on the problem and the core of the problem, by completing the symbolic inquiry of history through the investigation of every "individual".
