清末民初内忧外患的社会危机和知识分子掀起的维新与启蒙运动促成了中国社会和中国文学从近代向现代的转变。清末民初的短篇武侠小说也表现出与时代要求相适应的特征,在叙事形式上,它既有对传统叙事手法的继承和发展,又有对西洋小说技巧的借鉴与引入。受时代环境的影响,清末民初出现了一批职业小说翻译家,产生了一批具有现代意识、域外特色和世界眼光的短篇武侠小说。

The social crisis and problems faced at home and abroad of Late Qing dynasty and early of the Republic of China, and the reform and the enlightenment pushed by intellectuals lead to the transformation of Chinese society and Chinese literature from modern times to the modern.Qing dynasty＇s short Martial-Arts novels are adapted with the times characteristics, in narrative form,it has both the inheritance and development of traditional narrative,and reference of western novel skills and introduced.Because of the influence of times environment, a group of professional translators appeared in Late Qing dynasty and the early of the Republic of China,and produced a batch of short Martial-Arts novels with modern consciousness,outside characteristic,and the world vision.
