翻译学博士生理论研究能力和创新意识的培养——来自英国赫瑞瓦特大学的借鉴

How Does Heriot-Watt University Nurture TS Ph.D. Candidates' Research Competence

翻译学博士研究生的培养是翻译学学科建设的重要内容。国内翻译学研究生的培养工作起步较晚,当前国内学界对翻译学博士生的培养问题关注不多,更少探讨如何提升其理论研究能力和理论创新意识。本文以在翻译学博士研究生培养方面具有丰富经验的英国赫瑞瓦特大学为例,透过考察其培养目标定位、入学基本要求、导师培养方式、专业课程设置、培养过程管理、学位论文要求等重点培养环节,总结其在研究生理论素养培养方面的特色,为国内高校翻译学博士生的培养提供参考和借鉴。

The education of Ph. D. candidates is a key issue in the development of the discipline of translation studies（ TS）,especially for the case in China where TS Ph. D. education started a bit late. Currently few researchers have cast light on this issue,let alone the matter of how to develop the candidates’ competence of theoretical research and innovation. In this paper the authors take Heriot-Watt University of the U. K. as an example,and investigate its philosophy of TS Ph. D. education from such aspects as educational objectives,admission requirements,methods of supervision,curriculum designing,process management in education and dissertation assessment criteria. By doing so,the authors seek to draw valuable experiences for the education of TS Ph. D. candidates in China.
