刘知白先生是贵州一代水墨名家,他自1949年定居贵州以来,潜心于中国传统绘画,于深厚传统积淀中,浸染于贵州空濛奇诡的山川,从而开创出雄奇的泼墨山水画风,在传统中墨的气韵与力度上有了新的拓展,使传统绘画在形式及语言中获得了现代绘画表达的同时又保留传统的根性,其探索在当下中国画的发展方向中具有转折与桥梁的作用。

Mr. LIU Zhi- bai is one famous painter well- known for his ink paintings around Guizhou area. He pioneered in the magnificent ink landscape paintings by immersing himself in the traditional Chinese paintings and the scenic Guizhou landscape since his settlement in 1949. His exploration functions as the transition and bridge in the contemporary Chinese paintings by keeping the tradition and absorbing the form and language of modern painting to expand the traditional Chinese paintings in spirit and dimension.
