The paper discussed how to apply health insurance data to conduct pharmacoeconomics evaluation. The resource, accessibility and information contained in health insurance data were summarized. The steps to conduct evaluation, the advantage and disadvantage, as well the possible solutions were discussed, to provide related experience for other researchers.
