Su Shunqin is a famous man of letters and poet in Northern Song Dynasty, as well as a pioneer for poetic evolution in early Northern Song Dynasty. As a man of letters who took an active part in political and poetic evolution, his literary thoughts and creation propositions are full of individual features. Especially in poetic art, he expressed the decayed politics and military and people＇s sufferings in Song Dynasty. But the abolishment of in-capital offices, as the disaster of his whole life, became an inevitable product of the internal contradictions among government officials of Northern Song Dynasty, and the suppression the conservatives inflicted on the new party. Whenever recalling this, Su Sunqin would be seized with remorse. It is also an important turning point of his whole life.
