文化缺省及关联理论下的京剧剧本翻译研究

The Study of Cultural Default and Relevance Theory in Peking Opera Translation

中国京剧发展至今已经有二百多年的历史,京剧中承载着丰富的中国文化,在向海外传播的过程中,引起外国观众的极大兴趣。京剧剧本翻译是京剧走向世界的重要环节之一。此次研究探讨的是京剧剧本翻译过程中文化缺省问题。访谈结果表明,剧本翻译可以采取关联理论对文化缺省进行补偿。此次研究以《霸王别姬》剧本为例,探讨了京剧剧本英文翻译的有效途径及方法。

Peking Opera has been performed for more than two hundred years. Chinese rich cultures embedded in it. It also has been introduced to the world, and attracted world＇s interests. Translation of the script plays a key role in presenting Peking Opera to the world. This is a study on the translation of script in terms of Cultural Default. The study is carried out by interview. The results show that Relevance Theory provides a solution to it when Cultural Default exists. In analyzing the translation practice of Farewell to My Concubine, it proposed an effective way of translating the script of Peking Opera from Chinese to English.
