张介眉教授擅长运用经方治疗内科杂病。其在治疗疾病时注意患者的年龄特点,四诊合参,详析病机,辨证遣方。注重瘥后防复,在患者病情好转后仍嘱适当服药以巩固疗效,以防复发。张介眉教授以知味白地黄汤治疗尿频,以归脾汤合甘麦大枣汤治疗心悸,以礞石滚痰丸治疗癫痫。治疗尿频,据"七七肾气虚,宜益肾导热"之意;治疗心悸,取益气摄血、健脾养心之旨;治疗癫痫,重在清瘀热,熄风止痉。
